The Lord’s Prayer – Reinterpreted

Sharing is caring!

Rev. Joe Hooper at The Center for Spiritual Living in Palm Desert, gave an inspiring talk on The Lord’s Prayer yesterday.  He started by looking at the original Aramaic version and showing us how much it has changed throughout history and by various Religions.  The version he gave us to take home is much closer to the original and very much in alignment with the teachings of Science of Mind.  I loved it and I think you will too.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, hallowed by thy name.

Infinite Power within,

Your nature is wholeness and perfection.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

You are eternally present everywhere.  And from within you guide me.  for your ways are my ways.

Give us this day our daily bread

Infinite Power within, my every need is contained within You.

And forgive us our offenses, as we have forgiven our offenders.

As I dwell on Your nature, I am released from all previous errors.

And I am able to release the errors of others.

And do not let us enter into temptation, but deliver us from error.

With my mind centered on you, I am empowered to be all that I can be today, a worthy channel for good.

For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever.

I am strong and courageous, through the Power and to the glory of God which is Love.

Amen.
