I like this description of the distinction between Religion and Spirituality in The Joyous Living Journal.
It’s so important to access our inner wisdom and encourage follow it, no matter what anyone else says.
Now that I think about it, most “religions” have a mystical group that relies on inner guidance–Catholic Mystics, Muslim Sufis, etc.
My “mystical” practice with The Voice for Love has enhanced my life in so many ways, and I just love teaching it to others. If you are interested in learning more, let me know.

December 13 – Religion or Spirituality
Religion is taught and organized. Spirituality is directly experienced. Spirituality is your connectedness with the Life Force that moves through all things. It’s the feel-good feeling you get as you walk through the woods or along the beach, when life seems to be effortlessly flowing through you, and all the pieces seem to come together perfectly.
Even before religion, our ancestors knew this feeling, even though they may have had different names for their inner guidance or higher state of connectedness.
Don’t be fooled by a pantheon of gods or different paths of religion. Behind all paths is the ultimate experience, the direct union with the Life Force. There is a common thread of truth which has woven itself from the beginning of time through today. The One and only God is trans-denominational. It knows no bounds and is always available to be experienced-yesterday, today, and forevermore.
What religious rules get in the way of your direct experience of God?
When did you have a spiritual experience that transcended something you had been taught?
