I Celebrate The Power of God Within Me

New Thought philosophys like Science of Mind and Unity are difficult to understand and accept because they say things that fly in the face of everyday reality.  I believe it’s possible to say things in a way that makes more sense and I often re-write the Daily Word to align with my understanding of Truth.  Perhaps this commentary on today’s Daily Word with help you embrace an understanding and practice for living your best life.

I celebrate the inexhaustible power of Spirit.

I rejoice in this fundamental principle of life: There is only one power and one presence active in the Universe. This divine power is invisible and invincible. It expresses in, through, and as me. It operates unfailingly in service to the highest good of all!

Faithfully affirming such spiritual truths does not mean ignoring everyday life circumstances. Instead, I am able to fully reflect on and contemplate the facts of any situation without feeling defeated or resigned.

No matter how vast a challenge might appear, I know that, in reality, absolutely nothing is outside the all-loving power and presence of Spirit. In this awareness, I am empowered to meet life with boundless hope and compassion.

I celebrate the inexhaustible power of Spirit.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.—Ephesians 6:10

First of all,  There is clearly more than “one power and one presence in the world.”  Everyone accepts that there is negative power, it’s been called Ego, the dark side, the shadow, the devil, etc.  We may be able to accept that there is only one God, but we clearly have the power to create a lot of negative stuff.  That’s a main tenant of New Thought and The Law of Attraction — we have the power to create positive or negative experiences in our lives.

“This divine power (that) expresses in, through, and as me… operates unfailingly in service to the highest good of all!” — only if we pay attention and allow it to guide us — only if we live according to it’s principles of love.

Saying that “Faithfully affirming such spiritual truths does not mean ignoring everyday life circumstances” is an admission of the real conflict between the philosophy and

It takes more than reflecting on Truth.  We need to accept that we are one with God and endowed It’s wisdom and power and then take charge of our lives by changing our behavior.  We can also choose to release others to be in charge of their lives.  We may be affected by the behavior of others or other circumstances beyond out control, but we can choose how we respond and we can be directed to our highest and best by The Voice for Love.

“No matter how vast a challenge might appear, I know that, in reality, absolutely nothing is outside the all-loving power and presence of Spirit.”  This is true, only if we allow the “all-loving power and presence of Spirit to work through us.   “In reality” there is are negative circumstances in the world and these are the result of being “outside” “the all-loving power and presence of Spirit” — the result of shutting God out.

In summary, “Celebrating the power of God within me” is a matter of  practicing the presence and guidance of Divine Love within — of connecting to The Voice for God and making any necessary changes in thought and action.

Then, In this awareness, I am empowered to meet life with boundless hope and compassion.”

With my continual consciousness of Divine Love, Wisdom and Power within me and commitment to following It’s guidance, I celebrate the inexhaustible power of Spirit.”
