Hearing “That Still, Small Voice”

Have you been “noticing what you are noticing?”  That practice is the key to having everything you desire. Observing your thoughts and feelings gives  you the opportunity to choose better ones. 

This week, we are taking this practice to a deeper level, by noticing “that still small voice” within — that Higher Power within you. Some people call it “intuition” or “gut instinct.” Other names are “Universal Intelligence,” The Voice for Love,” The Voice of Truth.” Do you have a preferred name for it?

It will provide you with soothing thoughts, creative ideas and amazing solutions that you would never have been able to think up on your own. You will be amazed at some of the answers it provides.

If you are a little skeptical, I totally understand because I’m a very analytical and practical person. I like to say that I have a very sensitive B.S. meter. Because of this, It took me quite a while to fully trust this practice. And even after I tested it and saw results, I didn’t follow it consistently. Isn’t it amazing how our brains resist permanent changes in behavior!?

I would have been successful much sooner if I had had a mentor and “partners in believing” to check in with regularly. That’s why I created the Dream Big And Bloom Membership Program. It’s the program I would have loved to have.

I don’t expect you to simply take my word for it though. Put it to the test. Write down the messages you receive and the results you get and see know how it goes. 

Notice What You Are Noticing

First, you need to “notice what you are noticing.” To review that practice” briefly… You tune into how you are feeling and notice when you are not feeling happy and peaceful. Then you pause and notice what thoughts are causing that feeling. 

Remember, our feelings are caused by our thoughts or beliefs and many of them are almost unconscious so it’s very important to take the time to uncover the thoughts or beliefs that are preventing you from feeling happy and peaceful. When you write them down, you can see them more clearly.

Now, this week, take at least one thought on your list and ask your Higher Power – that ‘still, small voice,’ for guidance. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and relax and ask “what is the truth about this?” or “what do I need to know?” Then listen and see what comes to you. 

It may not come as an actual voice that you hear, it may come as a thought, an idea, or a gut instinct. It might sound like your own voice in your head, but you will know it by the tone it has. It will not be insistent. That’s why it’s called “the still small voice.” It will be gentle, kind, loving and wise. The answers will feel right. You will feel a sense of calm, assurance, confidence and peace.  

Be sure to write down the messages you receive and document your results because that will build your faith in the process. With consistent practice, it will become second nature and you will be able to ask and receive on the fly without even having to write things down.

Imagine this “still, small voice,” this loving Presence, providing you with exactly the right things to say to people at the right time and the solutions to every problem. Imagine being confident and relaxed, knowing that everything you need to know will be provided, every problem will be solved –  all you have to do is ask and you will receive. So exciting!
