Today I’m going to share with you a personal story that demonstrates how the dream builder principles can enhance our day-to-day lives. It’s not just about setting bodacious goals, but also about living with more peace and joy in every moment of the day.
I’ve called my story, “The $400 Miracle” but actually, I don’t usually use that term Miracle because if you believe that you create your reality by your thinking then these seemingly miraculous occurrences are not really miraculous – they are “demonstrations” that the law of attraction works. So I prefer to call them “demonstrations”. Another term is “manifestations“ because they are manifestations of your visualization work.
The truth is…we create the things in our lives and when our dreams come to fruition we call them demonstrations of the truth or manifestations of our vision. They aren’t really miraculous. They are demonstrations that the Laws of Success work.
Furthermore, oftentimes things manifest that we hadn’t even envisioned. It’s the universe, the creator, God, divine love, (insert your term of choice here) putting things together in a way we weren’t able to imagine from our limited human perspective.
Last week I had three such demonstrations in one day! And today I’m going to share with you the one where I received a $400 discount on the purchase of a new iPhone.
I’ve been waiting a long time to buy a new phone because I was waiting for someone to produce a phone with face recognition that didn’t require spending more than I paid for my computer. And back in July, I actually bought an android phone but I didn’t like it. I took it back and I decided to wait for the new iPhones.
In the meantime I’ve been limping along with an iPhone 6 Plus with a battery that only had 80% capacity and was needing to be charged several times a day. And because I conduct my business online and use my phone as a hotspot for my computer this was becoming a major inconvenience!
Note that I was holding onto my vision in spite of some inconvenience, watching for evidence of new phones, and being patient.
Finally, the new iPhones came out. However, I had to wait several more weeks until they were actually available to purchase.

Right now, I’m on a van-life adventure and I’m staying in Canon City Colorado enjoying the beauty of the mountains, cliffs and Arkansas River. So I decided to commute an hour and a half to Colorado Springs where there’s an Apple store.
I got a bit of a late start in the day, because I was getting my van’s rear window repaired that morning (I’ll share that story next week). I wanted to get back to my camping spot before dark but I figured I would get good service at the Apple store and get in and out and back to Canon City in time.
Well it didn’t turn out that way! Shopping at the Apple store was not the experience I had expected. First, as soon as you walk in the door, they were asking everyone if they had an appointment. I heard them tell someone else “we request that people make appointments.” Well excuse us!
I don’t know if it is because of Covid and they are trying to keep the number of people in the store down or whether it’s just because there’s so much interest in their new products. In either case, greeting customers like that doesn’t create a very welcoming or positive experience.
Anyway they put me on the list and said it would be about 20 minutes. I was fine with that. When it was my turn I discussed the options with the sales guy and decided the iPhone 13 would be fine for me and it’s the least expensive of the three options at $800.
I was also going to consider purchasing an iPad with cellular because then I wouldn’t have to hook up my Chromebook to Wi-Fi to get work done and the iPads have a bigger screen than the phones. So I thought I might get a smaller, less expensive iPhone and and an iPad.
However the sales guy didn’t want to explain the various features of the iPad. Perhaps he was a new employee and didn’t know how.

Well… I started to settle! I decided to just buy the phone. However it turned out there were only three choices of color black, white or bright red. I said I would’ve preferred the blue but I guess I would take the red one.
Then there was an issue with the login to my Verizon account to set it up. I’m on a family plan with my daughter and son-in-law and previously I was an “Authorized party” but that wasn’t showing on the account now.
At this point the whole process was becoming very tedious and annoying. And my Higher Self thought “wait a minute here. You’re about to make a huge investment and you’re going to have this phone for a long time. You should get what you want!”
So I said, “you know I think I’m going to check the Verizon store and see if they have a blue phone and can get me into my account. Thank you for your time”. And, honestly, I was feeling really annoyed and frustrated.

I got into my van and I paused for a moment and said to myself, “Mardi, you have got to get a grip here and change your attitude. You’re just going to make things harder on yourself. Just relax and let go of judgment and frustration.
So I got out my Google Maps app and discovered that the Verizon store was only a few blocks away. They did have the blue phone but it had more storage than I thought I needed and that was going to cost an extra hundred dollars. So again I thought I’m not going to settle. I’ll go to Best Buy. I always get really good service there. The young people are very sweet and friendly and very well informed about the products; and they don’t work on commission so they don’t have any reason to try to upsell you.
At Best Buy, I got the warm welcome I expected and they said they could order the blue phone and it would be there in three days. At this point I thought it would be worth having to come back to Colorado Springs in order to get what I wanted. They started to process the order and discovered the same issue with the login on the Verizon account.
So I called my daughter and found out that the “authorized user” slot had been switched over to her dad because he had recently bought a new phone. (You can only have three “authorized users” on the account.)
My daughter was busy with work and I hated to bother her to go in and make the change so I asked her to do it when she had time. I decided to give up for now and drive back to Cannon City to get back before dark.
Well just as I got back in my van I got a text message from Verizon saying that I’d been authorized on the account. Sweet Katie had taken care of it. So I marched back into Best Buy feeling so happy and grateful.
As he was writing up the order it occurred to me that I hadn’t actually checked how much storage I was using on my current iphone and that I should check and make sure that I was getting the right size. So we looked in my settings and found out that I was using almost all the storage capacity on my current phone, so it would be a better to get the model that has more storage. But they couldn’t get that one for me! Whaaat!
So I explained that Verizon had the larger capacity phone in the blue color and I would go back there. I told them how much I appreciated their help and that I was sorry not to purchase with them. They said “of course, no problem.”
So back to the Verizon store I went with the decision made and now authorized on the account. The salesman gets into the account and says, “you can save $400 if you trade in your current iPhone.“ And I said oh no, this phone is too old. The last time I checked it was worth about $20 and I read recently that the iPhone 6 Plus had dropped off the list entirely. Nobody wants this phone. And he said it doesn’t matter this phone qualifies if you wanna trade it in.
Well being the analytical and practical person that I am I said, “Why do you suppose Verizon is willing to do this?” And he said that he didn’t know for sure, but he thought that because there’s a chip shortage they are able to sell the chips in the old phones.
And I’m thinking to myself, “wow, this is a God thing.” This is The Universe supporting me.

That was the Quantum Field creating my results. It was my dream manifesting because of holding onto my vision, taking action, staying positive and not giving up. Just think, if I had bought the phone at Apple or Best Buy, it would have cost me $400 more! I could have missed the special offer at Verizon. I was so excited!
This experience is what some people call “all in God’s timing,” or “when the stars align.” The DreamBuilder Program teaches that you need to be flexible as you focus on your vision and take baby steps, because you may be directed to a higher good than you can see from your limited human perspective.
So we went through the process of transferring the data from my old phone and getting everything set up in my account. It took quite a while and I was not going to get back to my campsite before dark but I was so happy. I didn’t care.
I arrived at the campground after dark but it wasn’t from the paved road and I knew how to find my way. You know that feeling when you’re on top of the world and just nothing can bother you? I was stoked!

Now I’m enjoying my new phone so much. There are so many new features that make it faster and easier to use than my old phone. The facial recognition even logs into all the apps for me. It really enhances my productivity.
And I had to laugh because I heard my old paradigm (old criticizing programming) say, “you should’ve done that sooner!“ And I said to myself, “I did buy one sooner and I didn’t like it. It was necessary to wait in order to get this particular phone. I’m proud of my patience and perseverance.
It’s just amazing how our negative programming always tries to rain on your parade. You really have to keep it in check!
DreamBuilders learn how to manage that voice of negativity. It’s fear. We live with an awareness of it. It may be a companion on our journey, but we don’t let it sit in the driver seat. It’s so important to be aware of what we’re thinking and the good news is that it becomes second nature with practice. You’ll even get to the point where it amuses you to notice it and you’ll laugh.
Bijan, one of my mentors, used to say, “negative thoughts are like pigeons if you feed them they keep coming back, if you don’t they don’t. So good!
So there you have it, the story of my “$400 miracle,” my adventure purchasing a new phone and how I used the DreamBuilder practices to persevere, not settle and get what I desired.
Next week I’ll share another “miracle” (quote, unquote) about my van window repair. It illustrates the financial benefits of having an abundance mindset and being a person of increase. That’s how we manifest prosperity.
Share Your “Miracle” Story
Now…do you have a story that demonstrates how these principles have worked in your life? I’d love it if you would share in the comments. You will inspire all of us.
My DreamBuilder students take time every day to think about demonstrations that have manifested and write them down in the daily planner that I’ve created for them. This is such an important practice for overcoming the massive negativity in our environment. I hope you will be inspired to do the same.
