Today I’m celebrating that this is my 50th podcast episode! That’s almost a whole year of podcasts! My how the time flies when you’re having fun, right! I just love sharing this information with you and I hope it’s making a positive difference in your life.
Over the past 50 weeks, I’ve shared a lot of powerful principles and proven, tested practices from the DreamBuilder program that will completely transform your life into one that you absolutely love.
However, information without action is merely entertainment. In order for you to transform your life, you need to use the tools and build your belief. I’m here to support you in doing that and I want to make it as simple, easy and fun as possible.
So I thought that this week we would take a pause from learning new information and review all the things you have available to you right now. This will be a good review for those of you who have been listening for a while and a good introduction for those of you who are new to the podcast.
1. Read the Guidebook
The first thing to do, if you haven’t already, is to download my book, Living Happy, Rich and Free After 60, the Guidebook and Scorecard for Achieving Your Dreams and read it.
I heard someone say on a podcast that either 56% or 58% of digital books are never opened! This was from a from a New York Times story on Kindle and Kobo data. And of the ones that are opened, only 22% of people get past the first 100 pages. Look at the popular highlights in your Kindle books and see if they don’t fall off drastically after the third chapter or so.
My book is only 88 pages and will take you only an hour or so to read. It has a brief description of each of the mindsets that hinder or support you in creating a life you would love; and a scorecard that shows you where you are and the possibilities for growth.
2. Do the Scorecard
The amount of time it will take you to do the scorecard in the back of the book will depend on how much prior experience you have with personal development and how much thought you put into the process. I imagine that some mindsets might take longer than others but it doesn’t matter.
Each of us is unique and has a unique set of life experiences and it’s all perfectly fine. There’s no shame or judgment involved. It’s just a matter of seeing a starting point based on where you are in your current awareness and the steps you can take to get to where you want to be.
Give yourself the gift of quality time with yourself to discover what’s most important to you, how to achieve it, and how to live your precious remaining years with the most joy and fulfillment.
3. Learn more about the mindsets and the DreamBuilder practices
You can learn more about the mindsets and and the practices for improving them at Dreambigandbloom.com/category/podcasts. You can use the search box in the right-hand column to search by keywords, such as vision, or purpose, or health, or forgiveness or abundance, etc. Or you can just scroll down the list of posts. The transcripts for the podcasts are there as well as the audio recordings so you can read rather than listen. In fact if you read and listen at the same time, you will get even more benefit.
Here are a couple of tips that will maximize your learning.
- Listen to the audio and read the blog post at the same time. Studies have shown that using more than one of your senses, increases your comprehension and retention.
- Select the text of the blog post and copy and paste it into a document so you can highlight passages and make notes in the margins. You can put them in a notebook to review as needed.
4. Get answers to all your questions
Post your questions in the comments below the posts and I will respond. And if you have suggestions for future podcast topics, please let me know that too.
5. Get coached
Be a guest on the podcast. It’s the best way to get all your questions answered and get clarity so you can move forward with confidence and ease.

6 Join the DreamBuilder Program.
Ultimately, you are going to need coaching and the support and camaraderie of a group of like minded people because our brains are designed to protect us by resisting change. And resist, it will!
It’s perfectly normal for you to not trust new ideas or new teachers. It’s not a totally bad thing but you need to manage fear and doubt or they will prevent you from getting what you desire. Managing fear and doubt requires consistent practice. Without ongoing support, you will be disuaded and distracted.
It’s also vital to be reminded that you have an internal guidance system that is motivating you to grow and expand. It speaks to you as your longing and discontent. The ideas you have for solving your longing and discontent are from this Higher Power. You will know when you are on the right track by a feeling of peace…of rightness.
This guidance is very subtle though, and we are not taught to hear it and trust it. Whereas the voice of fear is loud and intrusive, not only in our heads but everywhere in our environment. So having coaching and partners in believing are essential to success.
A study on accountability by the Association for Talent Development found that individuals have the following probabilities of completing a goal by taking these actions:
- Having an idea or goal: 10% likely to complete the goal
- Consciously deciding that you will do it: 25%
- Deciding when you will do it: 40%
- Planning how to do it: 50%
- Committing to someone that you will do it: 65%
- Having a specific accountability appointment with someone you’ve committed to: 95%!
